Copy the link, not the tracking

Every link you share carries a tail of utm_source, fbclid and gclid that tells someone where your friend clicked from. LinkScrub removes it the moment you copy, so what you paste is the address and nothing else.

How it works

Those parameters after the question mark are not part of the page. They are a note to an analytics system about who sent you — and they travel on to everyone you share the link with.

It recognises the junk

A maintained list of tracking parameters — the utm_* family, fbclid, gclid, mc_eid, igshid and dozens more — plus the redirect wrappers that hide a real link inside another one.

It cleans as you copy

Copy a link from the address bar, a right-click menu or a share button — the clean version lands on your clipboard. Nothing to press afterwards, nothing to remember.

Nothing leaves your browser

The matching happens locally, on your machine. No account, no cloud, no log of the links you copy — because there is no server on the other end at all.

Why people use it

A link is an address. Everything after it is someone else's bookkeeping.

Share without passing on a tracker

When you send a campaign link to a friend, their click gets attributed to whoever tagged it. A clean link simply opens the page.

Links you can actually read

Forty characters instead of two hundred. Easier to paste into a message, a document or a chat without wrapping across three lines.

Tidier bookmarks and notes

Saved links stop carrying a campaign from two years ago, and the same page stops being saved twice under two different URLs.

Privacy by design, not by promise

The extension has no analytics and no remote calls. What you copy stays on your device because it never had anywhere else to go.

Get started in seconds

There is nothing to configure and no account to create.

1

Add it to Chrome

Open the Chrome Web Store listing and click “Add to Chrome”. The install takes one click.

2

Copy a link as usual

No setup screen, no onboarding. The next link you copy is already clean.

3

Keep what you need

Working with campaign links yourself? Add a site to the keep list and LinkScrub leaves its parameters alone.

Questions, answered

Will cleaning break the link?

No. Tracking parameters are read by analytics tools, not by the page itself, so removing them leads to exactly the same content. Parameters a page genuinely needs — a search query, a page number, a video timestamp, a product id — are never touched.

What exactly gets removed?

Known tracking parameters only: the utm_* family, fbclid, gclid, dclid, msclkid, mc_cid, mc_eid, igshid, the newsletter ref variants and similar. Anything not on the list stays exactly as it was.

I run marketing campaigns — won't this get in my way?

Add your own domains to the keep list and their links are copied untouched. You can also pause the extension with one click while you are building campaign URLs.

Does LinkScrub collect any data about me?

No. It has no accounts, no analytics and no server. The links you copy are matched against the list locally and are never transmitted anywhere.

Is it really free?

Yes. No paid tier, no trial, no ads inside the extension.

Send clean links from now on

Free, instant and entirely local. Install it once and forget the tracking tails exist.
